Accommodation
Rent for undergraduates is paid for 10 weeks each term, with an additional charge if students request to stay in residence outside of these periods. The rent includes the cost of laundry, cleaning, heating, and lighting, basic contents insurance and the network. Offer holders and confirmed students are sent accommodation information in early July and have until the end of July to submit their choice of room via an online form. Students will be able to select a preference of location or grade and will also be able to add notes relating to adjustments and allowances in relation to their room requirements. Although we try our best, we cannot guarantee that students will be allocated to their exact choice.
New South Court
This accommodation block was built in 2013 and has 30 rooms. It is laid out in 'hall' style corridors and all rooms are ensuite. Shared kitchens, with electric hobs and microwaves, are at the end of each corridor. Ground floor rooms are allocated to students requiring mobility access. Rooms are graded at 5 and 6, depending on outlook, and New South is at the south–west side of college, overlooking Tyler's Garden.
North Court
Across Emmanuel Street from New Court (and accessible via our underground tunnel), this court is made up of seven individual staircases laid out in the traditional Cambridge format. There are between 8 and 35 rooms per staircase, and usually 2–3 staircases are allocated to first years. Room grades vary more here, from 2 to 6. Each floor has shared bathrooms and kitchens, and these can vary in size.
Old South Court
Overlooking Chapman’s Garden and the fountain in Tyler’s Garden, rooms in Old South are standardised in two versions. Rooms are box–shaped and spacious, structured around curved staircases and are graded from 2–3. Kitchens and bathrooms are shared on each staircase, and there can be between 1–2 Fellows’ studies on certain floors.
Accommodation is provided on site for all undergraduates.
