March Schools Tour (Essex)

We strive to have a productive and meaningful relationship with schools in our Link Areas, which is why we love visiting and getting to know you and your pupils throughout the school year.

During our March Schools Tour, the Outreach Team is able to deliver a range of sessions tailored to the needs of your community. We often deliver sessions and workshops along the lines of the following:

  • KS3: "What is University?" workshop; "Think like a University Student" academic taster session
  • KS4: "Aspiring to Top Universities" session; "Choosing Post-16 Options" workshop; "Careers after University" workshop; "Critical Thinking Skills" academic workshop
  • KS5: "Introduction to Oxbridge" session; "Introduction to Competitive Universities" session; "Supercurriculars, Critical Thinking, and the Personal Statement" workshop
  • Parents and Guardians: "An Introduction to Higher Education & Student Finance" session; "Applying to Oxbridge and Competitive Universities" talk
  • Teachers: "Supporting your (current/potential) Oxbridge Applicants" CPD session; "What are Oxbridge looking for?" CPD session

Where appropriate and agreed in advance, we can also go off-piste and deliver a bespoke session.

In conjunction with our online programmes, Insight Days and September Access Bus, these Schools Tours support our move towards a multi-intervention approach whereby your students interact with us more than once throughout their time in secondary education. In doing so, we hope to become familiar faces and begin to break down the air of mystery that often surrounds places like Cambridge.
